The Ohio Club Bar was established in 1905 making it the oldest bar in all of Arkansas. Soon after opening the upstairs space was morphed into a casino. To hide these gems during prohibition period, Ohio Club was known as a cigar store but if you knew just the right word it would allow you to pass through a door and enter into a world of endless adventures. In 2020, the loft was fully renovated into the vacation spot you see listed here. Makes you wonder, if only walls could talk right?
The space
Located above the renowned Ohio Club and across from the historic Bathhouse Row, this fully-renovated 2-bedroom loft offers a one-of-a kind experience in the very heart of downtown Hot Springs.
Established in 1905, the storied club was once a thriving bar and casino frequented by notorious gangsters and celebrities such as Al Capone and Theodore Roosevelt. Today its prime location on Central Avenue allows our patrons easy access to downtown’s superb restaurants, shops, attractions, and nightlife.
Upon entering the loft, you will be amazed by the stunning vaulted copper ceiling and the original aged brick walls. The tall cathedral windows frame the beauty of the Ouachita mountains in the distant and the town’s bustling streets and bath houses below.
Throughout the space you will marvel at the many antique casino artifacts, photographs and period objects that tell a story from the past. In the living room, the décor is warm and inviting with a large cushy sofa with ample room for guests. A vintage poker table is ready for a fun night of cards with friends. The kitchen is well-appointed with everything you need: essential dishes, cookware and utensils, and a dishwasher, refrigerator, and stove.
The two bedrooms are professionally decorated with period style furniture, nostalgic photos and art, and large screen tvs. Both the King Master and Queen bedrooms are dressed in fine linens for optimal sleep and comfort. The luxurious bathroom has a nice-size shower, bath essentials and plush linens.
In the private entry stairwell leading up to the loft, there is an impressive collection of black and white portraits of gangsters and celebrities who once visited or frequented the club such as Al Capone, Mae West, Bugsy Siegel, Babe Ruth, Theodore Roosevelt, and Tony Bennett to name a few.
You will love the convenience of the many restaurants and attractions within walking distance of the loft or just go downstairs and enjoy some of the town's best live music with a burger and cocktail... at the oldest bar in the State of Arkansas, the Ohio Club!

As of 2025 all of Central Ave downtown, and the parking garage are paid parking only.
The Loft owner has a lot you may park it for free which is a 5 minute walk away. You will be sent GPS coordinates to the location in the automated message send the morning of your reservation.
Other things to note
* Disclaimer: This loft is located directly over the Ohio Club Bar. You can clearly hear the chatter and music coming from below. Many guests comment on how they enjoy the liveliness, but if you have any sort of sound sensitivities, the loft is not a good fit.
**Due to safety issues, we do not allow children at this listing (0-12 years old). This is a insurance constraint, and therefore a zero tolerance policy. If you show up with kids your reservation will be cancelled without refund.
